March has now began and so has Autumn Weddings, that time of year where the trees start to brown and the beaming sunshine creates the most magical of views (which makes for amazing photography!)
If you are planning your wedding in March, April or May you take a slight gamble on the weather not being in your favour but one thing is for sure…rain or shine, your wedding day photographs will be spectacular!
Autumn Colours
For an Autumn wedding we suggest finding a colour palette that not only complements the season but also your style.
You can opt for a softer winter feel with soft greens and olives, mustard, shades of orange, brown and tan matched with nudes.
Or perhaps you prefer the warmer Autumn feel with lots of burnt oranges, teamed with an forest green and chocolate browns.
More traditionally, (and a favourite here at Divine Events) is the deep Autumn feel; this is using nudes and tans as a foundation and either teaming these with plum and wine colours that can even look great with pops of blush and raspberry shades. Alternatively, you may prefer to go with the blueberry blue, navy teamed with deep purples…or just mix them altogether!
Autumn Florals
Something to consider when having an Autumn wedding is, do a bit of research on which flowers are in season as this may make or break your idea of having an Autumn wedding. As a bit of a cheat sheet some of the more popular flowers that are in season during these months include (but not limited too); Birds of Paradise, Cattleya Orchid, Dahlia, Gerbera, Gladiolus, Hyacinths, Dusty Miller, Nerine, Protea, Tiger Lily, David Austin Roses, Lisianthus, Iris and more!
If you are yet to set a date and love the idea of an Autumn wedding, Lest We Forget Anzac Day could fit in perfectly with your wedding plans and for those traveling guests that could utilise the public holiday and minimise the annual leave to be taken. The dates include; Monday 25th April 2016, Tuesday 25th April 2017, Wednesday 25th April 2018.
Happy wedding planning, we hope you have an abundant Autumn!
