So What Exactly is a Wedding Stylist?

by Divine Events

Often we meet brides at expos or open days and one of their top questions is what exactly does a wedding stylist do?

Wedding stylists are often confused with wedding planners or event managers, although there is some overlap and many of our stylists are experienced in all of the above, Divine Events specialises exclusively in event styling.

The easiest way to think of event styling is as interior design for events. What I love most about styling is that it can be more fanciful than functional as you style for a night rather than for a permanent residence. Event styling is the creative ribbon that runs through all of the elegant decor that makes your big day special and unique.

A wedding stylist is there to help a couple coordinate all of the flowers, decor and decorative element of their wedding day from the ceremony through to the reception. A stylist can help with very simple elements such as suggesting the best chair style for a reception or colour palette based on your venue, or as in depth as helping you pick the best flowers for your bouquets and buttonholes. With an abundance of knowledge and experience a stylist can help you create your dream design while keeping your budget in mind, and offers ideas and suggestions if you don’t know where to start or how to tie all of your favourite elements together.

Divine Events is unique as we stock a wide variety of centrepieces, chairs, furniture, charger plates, chandeliers and more that we get to style with. With two warehouses of products to choose from we have a creative solution for every couple and also offer customised designs to ensure we can be a one stop shop. We also have an amazing in house floral team who create beautiful bouquets and stunning floral designs to wow guests our your wedding day.
