One of the best parts of being a stylist is working with the finer details of a tablescape. Layering colours and textures to create an eye catching design requires attention to detail and looking at the table as a composition rather than just a table with a centrepiece. Below are five of our recent and favourite tablescapes highlighting how the finer details truly enhance the final product.
1. Black & White with a Pop of Colour
This concept was built on a plain white base paired with black ghost chairs and a black and white wide chevron runner. The black and white theme was continued through to the napkins and black beaded napkin ties to keep the table from being too busy. For texture we added our beautiful silver splash charger plates and titanium tealights. White urn vases were topped with bright punchy florals in purple, pink, yellow and a touch of red which were complimented with green wine goblets. The finished look is bright and fresh even though the initial layers were monochromatic. The colourful flowers and touch of green through the wine goblets really lifts the tablescape making it exciting and perfect for a corporate gala dinner or product launch.
2. Gilded Gold, Black and Marsala
This elegant tablescape has an abundance of textures and deep rich tones making it luxurious and ornate. Styled on a rustic wooden table this tablescape focused on rich warm tones structure in a long trailing centrepiece. The centrepiece featured royal gold candlesticks, gold mercury tealights, mini black baroque candlesticks, and mirrored vases with orchids in white and marsala. The variety of height draws the eye down the table across each candlestick and cluster of blooms allowing you to appreciate the variety of golden tones and layered textures. The look was completed with wine goblets, napkin ties and charger plates that mirrored the rich gold and black tones of the centrepiece.
3. Enchanted Forest Elegance
Custom charcoal grey cloths and napkins offered a soft yet clean base for this elaborate centrepiece. A long moss runner extended the length of the table accented with wooden slices, copper candlesticks, vintage bottle vases with jade and foliage, and finally copper tealights. Paired with clear ghost chairs this modern twist on a rustic look is a feast for the eyes! This look is a bit more subtle and understated than the first two looks, but still incredibly luxurious. This look is perfect for an intimate dinner such as the pictured event, or could be replicated en masse for a large scale function.4. Crystal Glamour
This fourth and final featured tablescape is an elaborate combination of crystal and mirror elements. Crystal three tier candelabras, low lying crystal balls, tall crystal balls and crystal hurricanes were lined up in a long row and intertwined with modern green and white florals. These layers of crystal were styled on top of a mirrored table-top for even great impact and paired with silver charger plates, white bentwood chairs and white wine goblets. When fully lit after dark this centerpiece glittered and sparkled the night away for this glamorous gala dinner.
